Men in Drew

Men in Drew is an organization that branched from the Charles Drew Science Enrichment Laboratory; however, Men in Drew is an independently ran student organization. All minority males that are interested in positive change are welcomed into the organization and encouraged to join. The goals of the group are:

• to maintain an overall performance from our members that reflect excellence;
• to influence those in and out of our immediate community to better themselves and those around them;
• to help provide a network of people that stands as a stepping stone for placing minority males in a position of change (college, research labs, the corporate world); and
• to heighten our understanding of life.

Working to achieve brotherly love towards men of color, we can be examples to society, showing that minority males can work together towards a greater good. Male bonding in today’s society is highly underrated especially in the racially/ethnic communities. Therefore, Men in Drew will provide an outlet, as well as a support system, to regain and establish the integrity that has somewhat been lost in our community. Through reflection, collaboration, discussion and implementation, Men in Drew will tackle issues dealing with men on MSU’s campus and in the world we live in. Ideas we discuss to change the community and ourselves will be recorded, so we can turn those ideas into a reality.
